3 Quick Tips to Build Your Marketing Email List

marketing-list

How do you get thousands of people to sign up for your marketing email list?

Here are three quick tips to get you more subscribers without having to beg.

1. Lightly gate TOFU offers to make it easy for prospects to convert.

No, we’re not talking about bean curd; we’re talking about top of the funnel, gated assets. These can be something simple like a tip sheet, short eBook, or infographic.

By “lightly” gated, we mean that you don’t ask for a whole lot of information from the prospect in order for them to access the offer. For example, your form fields would include first and last name and email, nothing more. This way, you’re not asking for a ton of information for access to a simple asset. You can ask for more information from the prospect in exchange for middle or bottom of the funnel assets (a demo, long-form eBook, etc.).

2. Use social media to extend your reach and grow your list.

You most likely use social media to engage your target audience and promote your content, but are you using it to grow your marketing email list?

The more you effectively demonstrate the value you provide on your blog, the more people will want to sign up. Run social media campaigns that are exclusively for blog promotion and email sign up. This way, you’ll be better able to tell which of your efforts are working and which aren’t and adjust them accordingly.

3. Strategically use paid advertising to give your content a boost.

It’s a simple truth: promoted content gets more eyes and more conversions. By promoting your content, and having that content include a CTA to subscribe to your blog, you’ll see more engagement and more conversions.

When engaging in paid advertising, make sure to try out different social sites as well as Google AdWords. This will better help you understand on which sites people engage with your content more. Also A/B test your ad copy to see what’s working and what isn’t.

Conclusion

By bolstering your marketing email list, you’ll be able to keep your funnel topped up. Remember, the more people in your marketing funnel, the more people you’ll see move through it and ultimately convert.
